To celebrate this milestone in home entertainment, we’re co-hosting screenings of the film in Dallas at the Hub Theater October 29th and 30th at 9:00 pm. Get tix at the theater’s website.

I’m proud to announce that “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead” will be available on DVD and Blue-Ray, November 2.

You can pre-order it at Amazon.

The DVD includes never-before-seen outtakes and deleted scenes as well as Interviews with the director (me) and the cast. It also has the Director’s Commentary (which I recorded alone in my room on a very hot day in July, with no air-conditioning, slowly going insane as I talk about the film.) And 5.1 surround sound option.

Issues of this magazine are estimated to increase in value due to a tragic warehouse fire in 2007 which destroyed all back issues of Fangoria, and created an overwhelming demand from private collectors.

Who could have known that a foggy Saturday evening in March would hold historic significance for Shakespeare and Vampires?

Who could have guessed that on Christian Feast Day of Saint Euphrasia, more commonly known as March 13, that while Australia was beating Germany 2 to 1 in Men's Hockey World Cup for field hockey in New Delhi, that an independent film from New York was taking home a prize for the Undead?

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are going to get political on March 13th.

We are thrilled that “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead” will be having a screening in the city on the north bank of the Potomac River, formally known as the District of Columbia at the Washington D.C. Independent Film Festival.

The screening will be at 9:30 at the Heritage Center.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are gonna get some flowers in their hair this weekend.

We are very excited that “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead” has been chosen to be a part of this years Indie Fest in a city that is “renowned for its chilly summer fog, steep rolling hills, eclectic mix of Victorian and modern architecture and its famous landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge” – that’s right folks … San Francisco.

There will be a screening on Friday, February 5th at 9:30 and one on Tuesday, February 9th at 7;15.

Last year on Christmas Day I filmed Santa crash his red sleigh into a pole on Fifth Avenue, across the street from my studio. No one was injured and Santa took it in stride as the cops arrived. I set the video to a Christmas Song I wrote called “The Present.”

It goes a little something like this…

“Snow is falling again on the yellow taxi cabs.
This year I was really good at being pretty bad…”

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Talk Back

Every film studio has a vampire movie. Every TV network now has a vampire show. Sure, there’s a big vampire craze.

But there’s another pale, black clad figure lurking in the shadows of pop culture and his name is Hamlet.

Besides Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead, and the endless scattering of quotes in film and TV, there’s been Hamlet 2, a breathtaking Jude Law on Broadway, and now the producers of Milk, Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen are doing with it the Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke starring Emile Hirsch.

And off Broadway is no exception.

Last Saturday I had the honor of being invited to speak at the T.Schreiber Studio in New York City, after a very awesome production of “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead,” directed by Cat Parker.

Besides playing Rosencrantz myself in High school, I had never experienced a live production. Cat Parker’s directed the play in the round, which lent itself well to the sense of constant spinning, wandering and directionless-ness of the play.

It was a great pleasure to speak with the cast: Eric Percival (Rosencrantz) Julian Elfer (Guildenstern) Erik Jonsun (Player) Tim Weiner (Hamlet) and the other talented, tireless actors who brought the play to life.

I recommend keeping an eye on this theater since they put on all the gems of Theater from The Night of the Iguana By Tennessee Williams to Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street By C.G. Bond to my personal favorite The Real Thing, by Tom Stoppard.

Guests of the “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead” record release party on Halloween Night at the Wooly crowded the stage as Sean Lennon and Charlotte Muhl surprised everyone with playing a few songs from their new band The GOASTT.

It was so dark I had to borrow the bouncer’s industrial strength flashlight to film, and as you will see, the result was quite haunting.

Top story: Costumes at the First Annual Rosicrucian –Hamlet-Vampire Ball hosted at the Wooly, give new meaning to the phrase “It” Girl. More like “Cousin-It” girl.

And if you’re a cousin in this frighteningly ghoulish small circle of Manhatten’s elite, then you live by one rule of Tom Thumb: Once removed…always removed. And the bouncers had their hands full, with over 1000 RSVPs, and the likes of rocker Evan Dando, filmmaker Chiara Clemente, DJs Arthuer Fornier, Alexander Dexter Jones and Jake Hoffman, the star of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead, as well as Mary Charteris, Daisy Lowe, and a surprise perfomance by New York’s own Sean Lennon and Charlotte Muhl performing in their new band, The GOASTT (short for The Ghost of a Sabber Tooth Tiger.) With the brilliant and beautiful Yuka Honda on keyboards and the mind blowing Yuko Araki on drums.

Spooky spoken words have a long tradition in dance music. From Vincent Price’s crackly low monologue over “Thriller” to Nigel Tufnel’s attempt to capture the dark mysteries of “Stone ‘enge” to almost any intro of a Doctor Octagon song.

Following in that tradition, and maybe a little inspired by Rocky Horror, a scene from “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead” was just included in a Halloween Dance song.

A DJ known as Dancelvania put a beat under Theo Horace’s dialogue where he teaches the vampire slave girls to turn human’s into vampires. Check it out here

And for those of you in Los Angeles California this Saturday, October 24th, get into the Halloween spirit by seeing a sneak preview of “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead” at the Arclight. 9 pm.

Hollywood’s love affair with vampires is as old as the film industry itself and has been a staple since the silent days.
In fact the most famous vampire, Count Dracula, has been the subject of more films than any other fictional character.

And in a few days, Hollywood will be showing love for the best Vampire-Shakespeare-Holy Grail-Romantic Comedy ever made.

“Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead”will be screening on
Saturday, October 24, at 9:00 PM a the Hollywood Film Festival, established in 1997.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead, filmed in three of the five NYC borrows at end of 2007, edited there in 2008 and toured around the US in 2009 is finally returning home for sneak preview at the Friars Club Comedy Film Festival before it’s official release in early 2010.

September 26th, 2009, Saturday afternoon at 5:30, in the Paley Center for Media (25 W 52nd St – you might recognize that as the Museum of TV and Radio) will mark the New York City premiere of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead, a vampire comedy that was conceived and realized in the big apple.

The Friars Club, famous for its rowdy celebrity roasts, first televised in the late 1960s, as part of the The Dean Martin Show. From 1998-2002, the roasts were broadcast on Comedy Central.

A bit of trivia: In 2001, Hugh Hefner's roastat The Club was the scene of Gilbert Gottfried's public telling of the Aristocrats joke, made famous by the documentary of the same name.

Past members include Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, the Marx Brothers, Sammy Davis Jr., Billy Crystal, and Johnny Carson among many others.

Everyone Else is Boring Animation

A few days ago I completed a new music video. It’s an animated surrealist accompaniment to my song “Everyone Else Is Boring,” off of my debut-solo album, Airbrush (Slush Puppy Music).

For those of you just joining us, Airbrush adds to a discography that includes co-writing two songs on Sean Lennon’s Friendly Fire (Capitol Records), working with Mark Ronson on the motion picture soundtrack for 21 and co-writing two songs on Daniel Merriweather’s forthcoming release Love & War (Allido) as well as four albums with my old rock band Dopo Yume.

The video for “Everyone Else Is Boring,” created as an
animated collage, combines photos of me taken by fashion
photographer Francois Hugon with early 20th century sci-
fi aesthetics and a “Mad Men" type vision of the
American Dream in the late 50’s.

Inspired by Surrealists like Marcel Duchamp, the video follows a slumbering “Jordan Galland” on a journey beginning in the comfort of a 1950s style home, winding through an idyllic
park photograph, mid-century postcard settings, cavernous
supernatural hideouts, Victorian parlors and more.
Methods of transportation include: a flying purple horse, a Godard-esque spaceship and massive bumblebee with
the face of a beautiful woman.
